Missouri Omnibus Nursing Home Act provides protection to residents and employees

The Missouri Omnibus Nursing Home Act was enacted as a response to public concerns about the adequacy of state laws, regulation and oversight of the nursing home industry.

It authorizes private civil lawsuits to compensate victims for improper or inadequate treatment of the elderly residents, including provisions for revocation of licenses, civil penalties for noncompliance with the Act’s standards, and required training of nursing home staff.  However, don’t wait!  The Act requires prompt prosecution and has a short applicable statute of limitations, meaning that if you don’t pursue the matter promptly, you can easily lose the right to sue under the Act.  If you know of any nursing home resident who has been abused or neglected, contact us at once at (636) 916-3300 or contact us via email on our web site at www.lawrubin.com.  The best possible case involves use of all available remedies including the Omnibus Nursing Home Act.
